Beckov

On the road between Nove Mesto nad Vahom and Trencin oon the right side can not overlook ruins of Castle Beckov, which excludes on the steep, 70 meters high rock above the village. Castle mentioned Anonymus chronicle of 12th century and its existence was confirmed by archaeological research, by which the oldest settlement of castle rock comes from breakthrough AD. Fire, which broke out the castle in 1727, destroyed most buildings and since that time is abandoned. Castle Beckov is a national cultural monument.

Beckov castle rock

Protected natural monument (since 1963) - limestone rock, area 1.75 ha, abundant occurrence taric rock (Alyssum saxatile). The protected area is declared to protect a significant piece of geomorphology - take that protrudes from the flat floor of the Vah river.
