Golf Piestany Hotel Maj

During 1914 in Piestany was founded the first golf course in Slovakia and one of the first in the former Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy. The initiator of the construction was Imrich Winter from Winter famous merchant family, who were major landlords and builders of Piešťany Spa. The course, which included a shooting range is located directly on the Spa Island and had already increased the attractiveness of the world-famous spa. It provided a pleasant environment to relax and walks for players and non-players. Since 1917, there was a golf club and were organized a tournament for Erdodi Cup.

After World War II and February 1948, Piestany lost this ground. Traditions were renewed after 1989 and in 2004 with initiative of SLKP a.s. Piestany, arised new club SPA-GOLF KLUB PIESTANY, whose home is 9 hole ground. 21st July 2004 was inaugurated new Piestany golf course.
